Here is how we came together. In 2006 we chose to host the First Annual Grace Wooster Wooden Bat Baseball Tournament. Grace Wooster, a life-long Easton resident and baseball fan, passed away from colon cancer in 2004. The Wooster family has always been involved with Easton baseball in many different ways, including the maintenance of beautiful Frothingham Park and its ball field.
With the generous support of many local families and businesses we were able to raise and donate $20,000 to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
2009 we want to do it again! OUR GOAL IS $25,000.
We need donations from area businesses for refreshments and raffle items. If you and your business are interested in donating to this event, we would greatly appreciate your gift. We are also accepting corporate cash donations for the Grace Wooster Cancer Research Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
These donations will be used for the sole purpose of raising money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to help support ongoing efforts with colon and rectal cancer treatment and research. Our goal is to provide a fun weekend of competitive baseball while raising money for a cause that affects all of us. If you have any questions, you may contact Steve Bloom, Event Coordinator at 508-238-8534 or bloom04@comcast.net. Thank you for your support.
